My art tries to shine a bright light on the two opposing economic games we humans can play going forward. So, I write about crazy big topics like poverty, housing shortages, the rise of global fascism, news deserts, and the propaganda that makes all of those things a thing. My favorite macro-sized theme to write about? World-class public transportation systems for cities and everywhere else. This is what makes the beautiful dream of car-free cities a possibility.I also love shining a bright light on the power of union power. My art does get very political sometimes. Sorry about that ... actually not sorry about that. These conversations are more important than they have ever been in my 47 years aboard this miraculous pale blue spaceship.
That is the ancient and majestic Árbol del Tule, the widest-known tree on earth. And her home is fucking breathtaking to experience in person.According to the Wikipedia page dedicated to this ancient beauty:In 2005, its trunk had a circumference of 42.0 m (137.8 ft), equating to a diameter of 14.05 m (46.1 ft).My picture does not come close to capturing just how mighty of a presence the Árbol del Tule is in real life. I took that photo while exploring the region where this ancient beauty has been living for a long fucking time. How long? She has been the anchor of this community (just outside Oaxaca City, Oaxaca) for at least 1200 years! According to that same Wikipedia page, some arborists believe this ancient beauty is closer to 3000 years old! When I think about the Árbol del Tule, I think about the macro-sized systemic topics that fuel my curiosity. What helped her flourish all these years? What were the flashpoints in history that almost ended her stay aboard this miraculous pale blue spaceship? What might prevent her from remaining an anchor of that ecosystem for generations to come? You know, like some of the fucking systems that we humans have designed and deployed to almost every corner of our spaceship?Like the system that inspired this comic ...
I have been researching, reading, and writing about these systems and the challenges we face to fix or reinvent what is broken for a long fucking time. So it is about time I show my work.Thank you for your interest in my art!Cheers!

MY LINKS ON THE SOCIAL WEB
Where can you find me on the social web in 2024?How about the zuckerverse? Fuck kingboy zuck. How about the elon-poisoned bird eXit app? Nope.I love what is happening with the rise of the open web via places like Mastodon. But I am not active on it yet.The bluesky thing might be closest to what I loved about that stupid bird app in its first several years of existence. And it is the spot to migrate to for many of the folks I enjoyed following on the bird app.@VorVdotMedia on Bluesky
@GregHertzke on BlueskyI haven't posted there yet, but that is where I might start doing the social network thing again. Maybe. And FYI, I can communicate with any of my amazing subscribers to VorV Media via the magic of an old-school-style email newsletter/weblog. Just respond to the emails in the newsletter.FYI, I will read all those replies.Except, of course, if you are a MAGA troll and are in the business of hate-reading my work. I'll only read your reply once. Spam folder you go!
